Intro Introduction

Line quality

The SES100 FARAWAY uses audio compression rates of 8 Kbps in compliance with the G.729A recommendations of UIT. Group III fax and telephone communications are supported by normal output (type RJ11 FXS analog 2 Wires)

Up to 32 channels

The V-Sat SES100 FARAWAY from GlobalTT is supplied with 2 analogue channels (two-wire) Tel FXS as standard. It can be provided on a multiple chassis (8ch times 4chassis) with 32 channels or circuits; in other words ± 25 to 100 users can share the equipment depending on their traffic.

Simultaneous calls

The V-Sat SES100 Faraway supports simultaneous communications. Each line is fully independent.

Full Mesh Single Hop

The SES100 FaraWay system employs a full mesh network architecture, enabling single hop VSAT to VSAT voice and data calls, minimizing delay and allowing for call routing through the optimal PSTN gateway in a multiple gateway environment.

DAMA Voice

Demand Assigned Multiple Access (DAMA) operation is used by SES100 FaraWay to assign satellite voice circuits on demand, thus ensuring efficient use of satellite circuits according to actual user needs.

Toll-quality voice and ITU standard implementation

SES100 FaraWay employs toll-quality voice compression of 8 kbps (ITU G.729A ), and is in compliance with echo cancellation ITU recommendation G.165.

Single modem/single carrier operation

The SES100 FaraWay unique FTDMA access scheme, allows the support of up to 8 voice channels over a single modem, a configuration typical of thin-route applications. A single modem transmits a single carrier, so no costly RF back-off is required, and a low-power ODU can be used, which results in additional cost savings, reliability, power consumption savings, and simplicity.

Encryption (option)

The SES100 FaraWay system incorporates an advanced encryption algorithm over all voice and fax upon request providing full security for network users. The encryption is based on AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) recommendations, using a 128 bit encryption- key -size

Very low power consumption

SES100 FaraWay's very low power consumption (over 80% lower than typical SCPC systems) is a major advantage where power is not available, resulting in cost savings on solar panels, batteries and UPS. .Additional power savings of up to 50% are achieved by the implementation of the automatic "sleep mode". This feature enables the system to enter into a hibernation state when no voice or data activity is detected at the site, and automatically return to active mode when activity is detected.

Transportable applications

The SES100 FaraWay network is fitted with mobile solutions, for ground or air transportation, where very fast deployment of a communication network is required (e.g. for military camps, or disaster areas where the telecom infrastructure is damaged), providing instant voice, fax and data communication to remote locations.

Easy expansion

Small networks can start without a hub, and as requirements grow and thousands of additional remote sites can be installed. Similarly, a small site can start, with only 2 channels of voice, and then grow up to 16 channels without any costly RF or power changes.

Fully integrated ODU

GlobalTT offers a line of fully integrated ODUs supporting the SES100 FaraWay, which are controlled through the FaraWay IDU, or remotely via the SES100 FaraWay hub, thus lowering costs and eliminating the need for additional indoor control equipment.
